THE TROUT AND THE STAG

CATCH AND RELEASE OF CASPAR JOPLING IN THE CATSKILLS

JULY 26-28, 2019

After many years of swimming the streams, rivers and tributaries of New York and beyond; grazing on nymphs and young emergers; this trout came across the most magnificent fly he had ever set his eyes upon. A feathered beauty of un-paralleled wonder that roused his little dorsal fin like no other. He was compelled to strike for it, and was instantly hooked. But before such a trout is landed, he must first be played to ensure he is ready for a life of happy captivity.
On the last weekend of July 2019 - we play the trout.

For locals and visitors alike, the Catskills Brewery is the beating heart of Livingston Manor. Located just a few minutes walk from LMFFC, and nestled behind the brewery on an an open field you’ll find two cottages, formerly the residence of the brewmaster and now made available for weekends and escapes. You won’t be expected to fill the boots of the brewmaster yourself, but you’d be foolish not to try your hand at being a sampler.
