LIVING OFF THE LAND
A WEEKEND OF FORAGING, FISHING, HOMESTEADING AND HERITAGE COOKING
JULY 19-21, 2019
As our lives become more fast paced, digital and disconnected from nature, we invite you to a weekend to re-connect with the land. Joined by some incredible collaborators, we’ll be trying our hand at catching dinner using a fly rod with local fly fishing guides, foraging with Laura Silverman of The Outside Institute, homesteading at Wild Roots Farm , and sampling heritage cooking techniques with chef, forager, fisherman and naturalist Will Horowitz, author of Salt Smoke Time, and hailed by New York Times as a “fearless explorer”. Our flagship event of the summer and not to be missed.

Catskill Brewery houses
For locals and visitors alike, the Catskills Brewery is the beating heart of Livingston Manor. Located just a few minutes walk from LMFFC, and nestled behind the brewery on an an open field you’ll find two cottages, formerly the residence of the brewmaster and now made available for weekends and escapes. You won’t be expected to fill the boots of the brewmaster yourself, but you’d be foolish not to try your hand at being a sampler.
